It’s time for India’s coaching staff to answer some tough questions

We all as big fans of the Indian cricket team had high hopes from the Border Gavaskar trophy and when the first test match began we all were confident that our boys will make history repeat itself and well once again beat Aussies on their soil. Things started well for India as we scored a respectable 244 in the first innings and bowled Australia out for 191 in the first innings which gave India a good 53 runs lead.

India finished day 2 with 9 for 1 as India lost Prithvi Shaw early. Unfortunately a big disaster awaited the Indian fans on day 3 of the test match. India came out to bat and the complete batting order of the team collapsed and India’s innings ended at 36 for 9 with Mohammed Shami getting retired hurt.

All major batsmen of India failed to perform:

It was highly unlikely that a team like India which has some of the best test batsmen such as Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane couldn’t even score 40 runs in the second innings. We also have to praise the bowling line up of the Aussies especially Pat Cummins and Josh Hazelwood, who pitched the balls in the right areas to get rid of the Indian batsmen quickly.

A surprising disaster:

The main point is neither the ball swing too much nor was the pitch wet or grassy that Indian batsmen couldn’t even survive the Australian bowlers. Questions have to be asked both to the players and the coaching staff as to what happened to everyone which led to a disastrous second innings for India.

Tell us your views on the Indian team’s performance in the second innings and what do you think would have been the reason behind such a poor performance?
