Just a day left for the first match of the Indian Premier League 2021. The teams have prepared themselves for the game. The first match of the tournament will be played this Friday at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Mumbai Indian team won the IPL title last season.
Taking the current Covid-19 scenario, the matches will be played in closed doors and no spectators will be allowed in the stadium. Also, only six stadiums have been finalized and there are 8 teams in total. Hence no team will play any match at their home ground.
LOOKING FOR A BETTER START
The last season was not that good for the Bangalore team as they were not in a good position at the ranking. Also, they have never won the IPL title, so the team is looking up for a better start as they will be trying very hard this season to win the IPL title.
Also, the RCB team does not have a good history with the Chennai stadium. The last time they played in Chennai, the whole team got all out at just 70 runs. Though we hope the history won’t repeat itself.
RCB also has their batsman Devdutt Padikkal in the team who performed great last season. He was the highest run-scorer last season until he got out of the team due to getting corona positive.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore have a great overseas line-up with the South African finest AB De Villiers, Australian Star Glenn Maxwell, New Zealand player Kyle Jamieson and Dan Christian.
The team is hoping to reach another milestone this year and hopefully, they might achieve it having such a great line-up.
From the Mumbai team too, the players are confident and well prepared for the season. They also have a great line-up of players. They are also expected to perform well this season as usual.
About the weather conditions, there will be a little warm and humid temperature in Chennai as Summers has come to India. The temperature is expected to be around 27-30 degrees Celsius.
As per the predictions, the Mumbai team is expected to win the match as they are the defending champions of last season and they have experienced players in the team.
In the RCB team, things are a little haywire as they have some young players who have not performed in international matches which might make them a little nervous. By the way, which team according to you will win the first match of the season, RCB or MI?
