The auctions for Indian Premier League 2021 have been completed and all eight teams have bought the players that they wanted. Son of the great Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun Tendulkar was also on the auction list. Though his name wasn’t announced for 5 hours in the auction and we were thinking that he won’t be sold. But his name came in the end and team Mumbai Indian took the kid. Arjun was the last player in the auction.
Arjun has been a net bowler for Mumbai Indians for a long time and there was no doubt Mumbai bid for him. His father, Sachin Tendulkar also used to play for the same team. Arjun has learned a lot playing for Mumbai Indians and undoubtedly is the best choice for him to play with Mumbai Indians. Even in the last year’s IPL, He travelled to UAE as a net bowler for the team.
After Arjun got bought by Mumbai Indians in the auction, his sister, Sara Tendulkar congratulated him on Twitter saying that nobody could take the achievement away from him, it’s his.
Arjun Tendulkar is a left-arm pacer and is also a very good batsman. He is a left-arm which a great advantage in cricket as there are very few players who are left armer. We don’t know currently if he will be in the playing 11 line-up or not, but he will be the second person from his family to play in the Indian Premier League for Mumbai Indians. Sachin Tendulkar, his father also used to play for Mumbai Indians in the initial years of IPL. He played for the team for four years from 2008 to 2011 as Captain. After 2011, he retired and became an icon of the team.
WILL ARJUN MAKE HIS DEBUT?
Even though Arjun is with the team for a long time and has shown his great batting and bowling skills and different tournaments, whether he will be in the top 11 line-ups would be hard to say right now. As the team already has some very good bowlers in the team including Adam Mile, Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, and Nathan Coulte Nile, we don’t know whether he will get a chance or not.
What do you think, whether he will be in the top playing line-up?
