Marcus Stoinis started the 13th IPL scoring 53 off 21 balls and then took two wickets against Kings XI.
In an interview he says, “I have come in with some confidence through good performances this year, but maybe putting fewer responsibilities on myself than other years,’ said the player who scored 705 runs for Melbourne Stars early this year.
Marcus Focusing On His Basics!
Marcus’s performance in his first game against Kings XI has shown us that he has got the confidence to face every challenge that is going to come up.
During the interview, he also said that youngsters nowadays are in a rush and want to do well. He says that this year he wants to express himself and wants to have fun in the future games.
He said that ‘going back to basics has helped’ him. This was only the first match of IPL 2020 where Marcus had performed brilliantly. There is a lot ahead for him.
Back in 2015, Stoinis had signed up for the Delhi Daredevils before he was picked up by Kings XI Punjab a year after. Later he also played for RCB before Delhi Capitals bought him once again in the 2020 IPL auction.
Stoinis Praises Coach And His Team
Stoinis said that he is looking up to his coach, Ricky Ponting to help him in the upcoming matches. Ricky Ponting has set that standard which will help the team.
He also says that DC has a ‘good core of young players’. ‘These youngsters have got a lot of energy in them and also some good experience’, says the overseas player.
