IPL 2020: 5 Players Who Excelled In IPL 2019 But Flopped This Year

IPL never fails to entertain and delivers to all the fans the best possible cricket. We have big hits, unbelievable catches, accurate yorkers, and much more to watch and cheer for.

This provides an opportunity for Indian youngsters who play at a domestic level to play with big international players and get a chance to learn more ways of handling big match pressure from big players.

This is a tremendous platform for everyone to learn, capitalize, and succeed in their mistakes. We have over the years seen big payers emerge from IPL like Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Suresh Raina, Rishabh Pant, Mayank Agarwal, and many more who have gone to represent the national side as a result of their big performances in IPL.

It is also a great watch for fans who love to watch their favorite players compete against each other in order to win the title.

There are 5 players which performed tremendously well in the previous IPL but have failed to show their skills in this IPL:

IPL 2020: 5 Players Who Excelled In IPL 2019 But Flopped This Year
  1. MS Dhoni- Having announced recent retirement from all formats of international cricket, Dhoni last played in the 2019 World Cup semi-final and a lack of match practice has been clearly visible as he hasn’t performed with the bat. Last year he scored 412 runs in 12 innings.
  1. Rishabh Pant- In the last IPL Rishabh Pant was the lone performer for the Delhi capitals and made them win matches on his own, but this year when his team is shining at the top of the points table, he hasn’t performed in any of the matches yet.
  1. Dinesh Karthik- He was a good performer in the last IPL averaging 31 in the tournament but this year he has hardly gone into double figures in the tournament so far also giving up on the captaincy.
  1. Andre Russell- It was a one-man show for KKR last season when Russell won all the matches single-handedly for the team but this season Russell has failed to impress any spectator.
  1. Khaleel Ahmed- Last year when SRH reached the playoffs he played a big role in it taking 19 wickets with an economy of just 8.23, but this year he has hardly performed in any match and failed to impress.
