IPL 13: Wish to see Indian and Pakistani players in each other’s T20 league, says Akram

India vs Pakistan has been one of the best rivalries cricket has ever witnessed. Players say that when they played against each other they had tremendous amount of pressure on their shoulders as the fans of none of these teams want to lose against each other.

Due to diplomatic and political reasons over the past 8 years, there hasn’t been any bilateral series between the 2 countries and the last series was played in India where the T20 series was a tie and the ODI series was won by Pakistan. Since then the only meetings between the 2 teams has been in either of the 3 ICC trophies or the Asia Cup.

The greatness of the tie:

This tie always produced big players who registered their names on big platform. Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammed Asif were some of the best bowler Pakistan ever had and competed fiercely against India.

Similarly Indian batsmen such as Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, MS Were always up to the mark in the series against Pakistan. This tournament for a long time has been Pakistan’s bowling attack vs India’s batting line up.

What Akram expressed:

Wasim Akram expressed his emotions that he was upset at Indian and Pakistani players not playing in each other’s domestic T20 leagues. He said that he wants the players to participate in both the leagues and cricket should not be mixed with any politics and diplomacy.
