Internation Cricket Council: Introduces ICC Player of the Month Award

The International Council has decided to introduce one more award in their awards list. This new award is called the ICC player of the Month award.

This award will help both male and female cricketers across all formats of international cricket to celebrate their best performances and recognize their talent throughout the year.

Every month there will be a voting poll on the official website of ICC where fans can vote for their favorite female and male cricket players in all formats of International cricket according to their performance in that given month.

An Independent ICC Voting panel will team up with the fans to vote and choose the best ICC men’s and women’s player of the month. This panel will include former player journalists and broadcasters from around the world.

This month the fans have experienced some of the fantastic cricketing performances making the inaugural month of the new award highly competitive.

Some of the top contenders of this month’s award selected on the basis of their performances for their respective teams are – Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Siraj, T. Natarajan and Ravi.  Ashwin from India, Steve Smith and Pat Cummins from Australia, Joe Root from England and Nida Dar from Pakistan, Nadine de Klerk from and Marizanne Kapp from South Africa.

The voting and nomination process is very simple. Every month three contenders from each category will be selected by their performances by the ICC awards Nominations Committee after which the shortlisted players will be further voted by the fans and independent ICC Voting academy which includes former players, broadcaster and senior journalists around the world.
