INJURY SCARE FOR SHREYAS IYER AHEAD OF SYED MUSHTAQ ALI TROPHY

There are possibilities that Team Mumbai’s star player Shreyas Iyer might miss the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy. Iyer is currently in Dubai and will be going for rehab at National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru as he is suffering from shoulder injury which has put a question mark on his appearance in the tournament.

Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is a domestic tournament of India which is organised by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The tournament matches are played among the teams of the Ranji Trophy. The tournament was named after a great Indian cricketer Syed Mushtaq Ali.

On Friday, Iyer was named as one of the captains of four teams by MCA, but on Saturday, veteran seamer Dhaval Kulkarni was named as captain replacing Iyer.

Iyer was in the team for the T20 and ODI series against Australia. Though he didn’t play well in the tournament. His scores in the three matches were just 2, 38 and 19. That was not best of Iyer. However, in one of the matches he injured his shoulder again trying to stop the ball which led his shoulder in a bad condition.

Iyer injured his left shoulder in Indian Premier League match against Rajasthan Royals team. Though he recovered from the injury later. Iyer played for Delhi Capitals as Captain in IPL where he managed to take the team to the finals. Though the team lost the finals to Mumbai Indians.

In the last few years, Iyer has really shown great performance in all the matches that he played. The player has really enhanced his reputation and his value in the team. What Do you think, share with us and keep reading more updates.
