India vs Australia series in cricket is always much more than just the game. Records are made, players are made, legends are born and it’s altogether the most fascinating cricket series for all the cricket fans around the globe. Over the years the Border Gavaskar trophy (the 4-match test series) has produced some tremendous form of cricket which will be remembered for generations to come.

Right from Ricky Ponting vs Sourav Ganguly to Virat Kohli vs Steve Smith we have witnessed the most competitive cricket in all three departments. Many records have been created and many broken and recreated by the big players. Cheteshwar Pujara, Murali Vijay, Virat Kohli, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami and many others have made their names by shining in this series.

First test at Adelaide:

This time the Border Gavaskar trophy is scheduled to begin from 17 December in Adelaide with the first match being a day-night test match which will be played with the pink ball. In the next test match which will begin on the Boxing Day, Australian authorities have said that crowds may be allowed to enter the stadium, so finally we’ll get to see a match in which fans will be present after months.

Virat to leave after first test:

Virat Kohli will leave team India after the first test match as he and his wife Anushka Sharma are awaiting the birth of their child in January. So India will be led by Ajinkya Rahane in the next three test matches.

India will certainly have to find a strong replacement for Virat Kohli as he’s not only the captain of the team but also the most consistent batsman of the team when it comes to batting in Australia. The Australian great captain Ricky Ponting also said that India would find it difficult to cope without Virat Kohli in front of the Aussies bowling attack.
