After the defeat of the first test against Australia, team India has planned major changes in the team. One of the major and demanding change is of replacing Prithvi Shaw with Shubham Gill. Significantly, Shaw showed poor performance with the bat in the first test. His scores were 0 and 4. Thus, the team is now looking for debutant Gill who has scored a half-century in a practice match.

Brad Hogg Believes Opening Isn’t The Right Spot For Shaw

Australian legend Brad Hogg came to cover Shaw saying that his technique doesn’t define him as an opening batsman in overseas conditions. He suggested that instead of removing him from the team, Captain should try him at number 4 or 5 where he can play his game.

The 21-year-old is heavily criticized for his poor technique as there was a huge gap between his bat and pad when he got bowled by Mitchel Stark in the first Innings and Pat Cummins in the second in the same way. Many former Cricketers suggested replacing Shaw ahead of the Boxing Day test in Melbourne. But former Australian spinner Brad Hogg has a totally different opinion. Hogg has full confidence in Shaw as he said that the young cricketer has scored tons of runs in domestic cricket it means he is talented.

He suggested using tweeter that India should try him at 4 or 5 positions where he can play his shots.

Here you will find the tweet,

However, the team management had shown a lot of confidence in Shaw despite his low scores in two practice matches. What I think is that there is more lack of confidence in him with a bit lack in technique. I am sure he will improve it and we will the same Shaw, we saw in New Zealand. India is struggling in choosing the playing XI. Virat Kohli and Mohammad Shami have left their void which has to be filled. K L Rahul can do that for Virat Kohli. He has played here before and loves bounce and pace.

But it is very difficult to choose a replacement for Shami, India has Mohammad Siraj and Navdeep Saini in the team. With whom the team goes with will be interesting to see. Since Rohit Sharma will be available from the third test, Mayank has to perform in this match.

On the other, Rishabh Pant can be seen playing in place of Wriddhiman Saha who failed with Bat in the first match. The second test at MCG will begin on the 26th of December.

India has to choose a winning eleven to make a strong come back in the second match against the Aussies. What is your playing XI? Share with us and let us know.
