India Announces Its T20I Squad for West Indies Tour: Kohli and Bumrah Rested While Kuldeep Yadav and KL Rahul To Return

The Indian team for the West Indies tour has been declared by the BCCI.

KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav have been included, while Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah have been given a break.

However, the inclusion of the latter players is subject to their fitness.

For those who might think that Kohli has been barred from the series due to his poor performance, this isn’t true.

Fans and past players harshly criticized Kohli for asking for a break. Many people, including former India captain Kapil Dev, demanded that he be removed from the T20 squad due to his performance.

However, the selectors didn’t lose faith in him and met his request for a break since they didn’t want to take precautions with the ailment in case it worsens and becomes a more serious issue, as if a player hurries into the action, a groyne strain can quickly turn into a major tear.

India’s Squad For Five T20Is:

Rohit Sharma (Captain), Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Shreyas Iyer, Dinesh Karthik, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, R Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh.

The Indian squad will travel to the West Indies to play a series of five T20Is and three ODIs. The ODI series will start on July 22nd, 2022, while the T20 series will start on July 29.

On July 29, 2022, the sides will square off at Brian Lara Stadium to begin the T20 Series.

The final two Twenty20 Internationals are planned to be played at Fort Lauderhill, Florida, and the second and third games of the series will be played at St. Kitts Warner Park on August 1 and 2, respectively.

The Indian cricket team will then meet the West Indies squad in a one-day international match, as per the West Indies versus India schedule.
