In the first T20 international, the team led by Rohit Sharma managed to record a massive score of 199 runs against Sri Lanka, in response to which The Lions fell off in just 137 runs giving away the win to India.

The opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan gave India a much-needed start adding 58 runs in the powerplay, and a total of 111 runs before Rohit Sharma went back to the pavilion in the 12th over at the score of 44 off just 32 balls.

After the first impact, Ishan Kishan continued the fireworks, scoring 89 runs off 56 balls before Janith Liyanage caught the ball in the 16th over of Dasun Shanaka. Shreyash Iyer, on the other end, stood tall and scored 57 runs off 28 balls with the support of Ravindra Jadeja, who scored 3 runs off 4 balls, taking the total score of the Indian team to 199. 

A similar attack was seen from the Indian bowling side in the second innings. The bowlers were able to stop Sri Lanka at the score of 137 runs in 20 overs with a fall of 6 wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Venkatesh Iyer bagged 2-2 wickets on their corner, while Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravindra Jadeja bagged one each.
