IND vs ENG 3rd T20I, Yesterday Match Result, Highlights: England Defeats India By 17 Runs Despite Suryakumar Yadav’s Ton

India started off aiming for a lofty 221, but were shocked when they lost the big three—Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and Virat Kohli—early on.

However, Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer worked brilliantly together and put England on the verge of collapse with a stand of more than 100 runs.

Up until Yadav’s dismissal in the penultimate over, when India lost by 17 runs, they were still in the game.

England batsman took full advantage of Trent Bridge’s favorable batting conditions, scoring a commanding 215/7 in 20 overs thanks in large part to the contributions of Dawid Malan (77) and Liam Livingstone (42*).

As spinners Ravi Bishnoi (2/30) and Harshal Patel (2/35) were their sole saviors, India missed the services of the senior bowling starters.

Even with short boundaries, it will be a major challenge for the Indian batting lineup to chase down such a massive score.

Yadav persisted with his assault, dismissing Iyer and Dinesh Karthik in quick succession to move India closer to the goal.

However, his expulsion in the penultimate over gave England the advantage once more. Thereafter, Chris Jordan took two wickets in the final over as England managed to win comfortably.

Despite losing wickets frequently, England was still able to score boundaries especially given the venue’s low boundaries.

The crucial 84-run partnership between Malan and Livingstone allowed England to surpass the 200-run threshold.

Both Ravi Bishnoi and Harshal Patel secured two wickets for India. Earlier, England chose to bat after winning the toss.

Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi, Umran Malik, and Shreyas Iyer were given opportunities in lieu of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Hardik Pandya as India made four changes to their lineup.

With a 2-0 series advantage, India could afford to take a major risk. While certain modifications were also made in England.

In the first two games of the series, Rohit Sharma and company played exceptional cricket and secured a commanding 2-0 lead.

However in the second T20I, India benched the in-form Deepak Hooda in favor of Kohli, who was bowled by Richard Gleeson for only one run.

However, after a brief break, returning T20I players Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant, and Jasprit Bumrah made an impression.
