Ind vs Aus Yesterday Match Result: Australia Win Third Test Against India by Nine Wickets, Series Stands at 2-1 Heading into Ahmedabad Test

India vs Australia Third Test Match was played in Indore in which Australia beat India by 9 wickets. We got the results of the match in just the seventh session of the match.

Yes, it was a spinning track where India couldn’t score a decent score in the first innings and Australia benefited themselves by taking a marginal lead of 88 runs.

On the third day of the match, Australia needed just 76 runs to win the match. India started with Ashwin and they got their first wicket on just the second ball of the day. Usman Khwaja got an outside edge and Srikar Bharat took a good catch on the bowling of Ashwin.

Later on, Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head have shown a remarkable batting approach. They also struggled for some overs but they switched their gears and brought Australia a tremendous win.

Australia Sealed Dominant Win

The toss of the match didn’t go in the favor of the Australian team. They were not the favorites for the third test that was played in Holkar Stadium at Indore where Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted for batting first a couple of days ago.

The two main players of Australia, Pat Cummins, and David Warner went back to their homes due to some reasons. Still, Australia showed a great turnaround by beating the Indians in the third Test by nine wickets.

Steve Smith’s captaincy is highly appreciated, the right bowling changes and a field setup brought India to the backfoot from the first innings.

Even, the Indian team didn’t get a chance to come back except by taking 6 wickets for just 11 runs in the first innings, which restricts the lead only to 88 runs.

Indian poor batting form continued in the second innings where Chateshwar Pujara showed his temperament in this rank-turner wicket. The Indian team was planning to give a target of 150 runs, which would be a difficult score to chase in the fourth innings.

However, these things couldn’t have been possible just because of the incredible bowling performance of Nathan Lyon who has taken significant advantage of rough patches and never let any player settle for a long time. A lack of big partnership stopped the Indian side to only 163 runs in the second innings.

Scoring 76 runs on the third day wasn’t a big task for Australia and they comfortably chased the target after the wicket of Usman Khwaja in the first over.

India Australia Series Results

Currently, India is leading the series by 2-1 but this Australian side was remarkable during the entire match. This win will bring their confidence high-sky and it will benefit them in the fourth test, which will be played in Ahmedabad.

The Border Gavaskar Trophy is going to be very interesting in the fourth test match because both the teams will make every single effort to win it.

Australia would like to level the series with 2-2 by winning the next match, while India would like to confirm their spot in the WTC Final by winning this match.

If India loses this match, they will be reliable in Sri Lanka vs Newzealand series. That series will be played in the home conditions of New Zealand and it is a real challenge for the Sri Lanka side to beat them.
