ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 wins ‘Best Sporting Event’ award in Australia

‘Australian events awards’ are held each year to felicitate the best sporting events which are held in the country. Australia has a tremendous record of hosting sports events majorly the Australian Open in tennis and various cricket tournaments at the big venues in Australia. 

The historic final:

In February and March 2020, Australia hosted the women’s T20 World Cup which was won by Australia by defeating India in the final. This event recently won the ‘best sporting event’ award in the ‘Australian events awards’.

The final of this tournament will forever be registered in the history books with great pride as it was held on the 8th of March which is international women’s day and attracted a jam-packed MCG stadium with an attendance of 86,174 on the day.

The event saw a total of 23 matches which were watched by around 1,36,000 spectators all around Australia held in six different venues. This event proved that it’s not only men’s game that attracts the crowd; women also give their efforts and deserve your support.
