ICC REDEFINES MINIMUM AGE POLICY FOR THE ONES WHO YEARN TO PLAY CRICKET AT A YOUNG AGE!!

Gully cricket is the first match every child gets to play with his friends. Some of them are good at it some of the rest can be the best too. Mainly, the kids play it for fun but few play Cricket for passion and are dedicated towards it.

What is the minimum age Policy to play Internationals?

International Cricket Board has always thought of improving the cricketing standard. In this direction, the board has taken a step to bring some restrictions on the minimum age limit for a player who wants to play international cricket. This step will safeguard the players as one of the officials said.

This introduction of minimum age restriction for the international cricket program will be applied throughout the ICC events including World Cups, for both seniors and under-19. It will be applied to both men’s and women’s cricket. These all points are confirmed by the ICC in a press release.

Let’s have a look at the new age policy from ICC!!

The new age policy from ICC says that a player must be aged 15 years or more to play cricket at the international level. However, ICC has cleared that this rule will not be eligible for cricket at the domestic level.

The respective boards for every country can field players younger than 15 years. Though ICC can allow a player younger than 15 to play international cricket but in some exceptional circumstances.

ICC will see whether the player is mentally prepared to play or he/she has some exceptional records in domestic cricket. We have seen an example before which is of none other than Great Sachin Tendulkar. The board demands some key points of mental health which depends on experience and mental development.

If we talk about the youngest player to play international cricket, the name which comes is of Pakistan’s batsman Hasan Raza. He made his debut in the international at the age of 14 years and 227 days. And the second-youngest player needs no introduction I guess, he is none other than legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar who made his debut against Pakistan at the age of 16 years and 205 days. And we all know where he has finished his game.

Conclusion

ICC is concerned about the development of cricket and we have to keep a thing in our mind that talent has no age bar and thus ICC still has kept the door open for an exceptional case like Sachin.
