This happens after looking at the current scenario of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. However, the practice season for all the qualified teams subsisted in the nets continuously without any halt, till the date of the announcement.

Is the Second Event the Final One in Challenge League A? 

ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Challenge League A consists of all total three events, the first event went well without being affected by the ongoing pandemic. 

However, the second of the three Challenge League A event had to be rescheduled after being officially delayed by the Cricket Board. Moreover, the second event forms part of the qualification path to the 2023 World Cup. 

When and Where It Has Been Rescheduled? 

Fortunately, the second event of Challenge League A is rescheduled from March and now endorsed to take place between September 30 to October 10. 

After complete analysis and prediction regarding the minimum number of active COVID-19 cases, the soil for this League event has also been decided. It’s being officially declared by the Cricket Board that the Challenge League A will be now held in Malaysia.

Many teams in the run such as Malaysia, Qatar, Canada, Denmark, Vanuatu, and Singapore yet not confirmed their spots in the League A table and were anticipated to play 15 List A games, with an aim to win points and spots in the Challenge League A table.

Canada presently on top of the table, means ahead of Singapore based on net run rate. Most importantly, both teams have a tie with eight points with their names.

What After the Completion of Challenge League A? 

After the culmination of the Challenge League A matches, the teams heading the table will now qualify for the Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-Off matches.

This Qualifier Play-Off matches will allow the qualifying teams to face-off in the semi-finals and after which clear their pathway to the Men’s Cricket World Cup finals.
