Parthiv Patel will be remembered as one of the very important players of the team. When he played his first test back in 2002 at the age of just 17 years he became the youngest wicketkeeper batsman tk represent any nation in tests. He was also the opening batsman for India at a time when there were fierce bowlers like Brett Lee and Shoaib Akhtar on the new ball.
He used to face them with confidence at such a young age and score runs. He scored 934 test runs in 25 matches he played. But his career was deeply affected due to regular injuries and he lost his place in the squad to MSD. After that due MSD’s consistency and leadership, no one could ever get to play at the position of wicketkeeper-batsman for India.
Parthiv Patel has played majority of his IPL cricket for Mumbai Indians and has recently announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. He will be joining Mumbai Indians as their talent scout for his future ventures after announcing retirement.
Parthiv said that he enjoyed playing cricket at his time with Mumbai Indians and can never forget the three years they remained as champions. He says he is excited and confident for the opportunity provided to him by Mumbai Indians.
