Haseeb Hameed says ‘cricket is fun again’ after Nottinghamshire move

Cricket at the domestic level and tournaments like the Ranji trophy, County cricket or the IPL plays an important part in the career of a player whether he spends his whole career playing at the domestic level or gets a bigger chance to go on and perform at the big international level.

Many players over the years have performed extremely well at the domestic level and caught the eyes of the selectors year after year to go on and play for their country. Domestic cricket offers so much to learn for the players, it teaches you how to coordinate and compete at the same time. When someone plays at the domestic level he has 2 things in mind to help his team win and to play well so that he can go on and get selected to the national team.

The lost youngster:

Haseeb Hameed who was a young player when he represented England against India, got to play only three tests and after that he had to leave the team as he suffered an injury in his finger. He took a lot if time to recover from that and then came back and played at Lancashire where he did not get many chances in the county cricket.

Playing for Nottinghamshire:

Now he has started playing for Nottinghamshire in this season’s county cricket and has been playing pretty well this season as he’s getting more chances. He will hope to return to the national squad soon as he was one of the batsmen who could dominate a decade as an opener.
