Happy Birthday Harleen Deol

Born on 21 June 1998, Harleen Kaur Deol rose to get fame after she performed an acrobatic catch while avoiding the boundary rope during the Twenty20 series against England.

Her catch went viral in July 2021 and earned her words of praise from Sachin Tendulkar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

She followed the footsteps of Taniya Bhatia to become the second woman cricketer from Chandigarh to play for India.

On 22 February 2019, Harleen made her debut in Women’s One Day International cricket (WODI) for India Women against England Women at Wankhede in Mumbai.

Her Women’s Twenty20 International (WT20I) debut came against England on 4 March 2019.

She contributed 100 runs in partnership with Smriti Mandhana in her debut match of the Women’s IPL T-20 challenge for Trailblazers against Supernovas.

After her impressive track record, she was named to India’s squad for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia in January 2020.
