Grateful for the opportunity to play cricket again: Shikhar Dhawan

This IPL has been tremendously helpful for many players to make it to the squad for India’s tour of Australia. Players gave their best at the pitch and made it a very competitive IPL.

The competition was so high that in order to decide which four teams made it to the playoffs, it all came down to the last group stage match of Mumbai Indians vs. Sunrisers Hyderabad in which Sunrisers handsomely won the match and made it to the playoffs.

The major players which were top performers this IPL were KL Rahul of Kings XI Punjab, Mohammed Siraj and Navdeep Saini of Royal challengers Bangalore, Shikhar Dhawan for Delhi capitals and Wridhiman Saha for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

All these players have made it to the upcoming tour of Australia and will represent the National side.

Dhawan makes a comeback:

It was a hard time for Shikhar Dhawan before IPL as he was not finding his form for team India and was away from the squad for a long time and was trying to make a comeback into the squad somehow. Finally fortunes turned Dhawan’s way and he had a tremendous IPL scoring two centuries and being the most reliable and consistent batsman of the Delhi capitals.

Hopes to perform well this time:

He recently said that he was very grateful for this opportunity which he has got to represent India once more and he says that he will live up to the expectations. He and Rohit Sharma became India’s constant opening pair for a long period of time with the start of champions trophy in 2013.
