It was a big surprise for every cricket fan when one of the best swing fast bowler of the modern day cricket, Pakistan’s Mohammad Amir announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket. He was the one who was highly crucial in the Pakistan’s champions trophy final win against India in 2017.
He had the ability to swing the new ball both ways and make life harder for every batsman. After announcing his retirement, he gave an interview to a channel in which he said that the reason he announced his retirement was continuous torture he faced from the Pakistan cricket board ever since he was banned in 2010 for spot fixing in the Lords test match against England.
Retires after being dropped fom the NZ’s tour:
He announced his retirement after he was overlooked by the Pakistan cricket board for the ongoing New Zealand tour. The PCB after Amir’s retirement stated in a release that Amir has no intentions of playing international cricket any further and he won’t be considered for any further upcoming international matches for Pakistan. This shows that the PCB didn’t even thank him for his contribution to the team over the years.
Shoaib backs Amir:
Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar came out in support of Amir and said that Amir is a very talented bowler and has always been an asset to the country and the team. He further said that Amir’s talent should not be wasted. He suggested giving Amir a chance to train under him and then see the tremendous bowler which he’ll transform into.
