Four players With the Most Man Of The Match Awards In ICC Events

Getting a man of the match award in the ICC event is the matter of pride for any player of this world. However, an individual player needs to step up his performance so that their team does well in a tournament hosted by the International Cricket Council.

So the man of the match awards are to help the players to grow their performance which would help their team to do well and maybe win that ICC glorified event. So today, we shall name four players with the most MOM Awards in the ICC tournaments –

Chris Gayle – The Universal Boss is the biggest entertainer on the cricket field. He holds the record for the most man of the match awards in the ICC tournaments. Gayle is always charged to play for West Indies in the mega ICC events, and he is unstoppable.

The prolific six-hitter has won eleven MOM awards in the ICC events, which is the most in the game’s history.
He is the oldest player who still wants to play the World T20 in the UAE. So the tally of the man of the match awards can go up if he plays that event.

Sachin Tendulkar – The most outstanding player of many generations, Sachin Tendulkar has the bulk of the International cricket records to his name. He has played six World Cups in the ODI format, which is also the most by any player.

The Master Blaster features in this list without participating in any World T20 tournaments. Sachin also played the ICC Champions Trophy for India, and he has won ten-man of the match awards to his name in the ICC events from 1989 to 2012.

Shane Watson – He is the most excellent all-rounder which Australia has produced. Watto was an extraordinary batsman with an incredible hitting ability. As an opener, he had made a significant mark on the limited over games for the Aussies. Watson played his last ICC event in the 2015 world cup, which they won. He has won ten MOM awards in the events of the ICC.

Mahela Jayawardene – The former Lankan Skipper, Jayawardene was a prolific captain and batsman for his team. He was like a pillar to the middle order of Sri Lanka. Nowadays, Sri Lanka has been struggling because they don’t have the class and calibre of Jayawardene in their team.

He also scored a century in the 2011 world cup finals in Mumbai. Mahela has also won ten ICC man of the match awards, and he also won the ICC tournament of World t20 in 2014.
