Sreesanth, the bowler who had an excellent start in the Indian team but because of the controversial issues ended up with a life ban. Many hearings passed, everyone moved on but the one who left behind was Sreesanth.
He was the part of both World Cups, 2007 and 2011. He has contributed a lot to the Indian team, but the BCCI’s decision changed his life. People still loved Sreesanth and wanted him to play for India again.
Sreesanth’s BAN LIFTED!
Sreesanth had a good career in cricket but the spot-fixing controversy made BCCI ban their best bowler of the Indian Cricket Team. But later he was proven innocent but the ban was not lifted over Sreesanth.
On 16 May 2013 along with Sreesanth, Ajit Chandia, and Ankeet Chavan were arrested because of spot-fixing. He confessed about spot-fixing once but every time he mentioned he was forced to sign the papers.
All the three players’ contract was suspended for IPL, later on, Sreesanth was acquitted for spot-fixing.
BCCI had Banned him for life but his case was taken to many courts. In 2015 he was acquitted and was given a clean check. Later his case was taken to Kerala High Court, the Court removed all the charges against him and requested the BCCI to reduce or restore the Ban.
Sreesanth’s ban was then turned to 7 years, he was the player who plays with aggression and he is short-tempered. But in cricket, no bowler can replace him. His love for his game is immense.
Sreesanth played 27 test matches for India and took 87 wickets, he played 53 ODI’s and 10 T20Is where he took 75 and 7 wickets. He is really good with his game, in an interview, he mentioned anyone can call him from anywhere and he will play for them.
The 37-year-old is ready to come back and play for India, he mentioned he wants to play for India in the 2023 World Cup. Hope he will come back soon Indian Team.
