English cricket joins social media boycott over online abuse

In recent months, some of the well-known football personalities have been abused only on their race. People have come up to speak about it and there are tough actions to be taken against the abuse.

There will be a boycott on social media which will be joined by people from the English Cricket fraternity as well as Rugby players. They recently announced that they will also be joining the boycott of social media against racism and race discrimination.

Many English football organizations and Leagues have announced that their channels will be silent from Friday 2 PM to Monday 11 PM. The boycott is very important after the footballers got abused online for racism.

As per the broadcasters BT Sport and Talksport, they will also join the protest. Adidas, one of the major kit manufacturers in the world, will also join it. A total of 18 counties along with England cricket Boards has come forward to join the protest.

The Chairman of the England cricket board recently made a statement that no matter which game, all the games are united as a sport and they would not tolerate any kind of abuse on any sportsman. They would come forward to fight against racism and will be boycotting social media.

Social Media is rather made so that the fans will be more connected with their idols and players will also get to know more about how their fans feel for them. But there are people who are using it the other way and spreading negativity around.

Both the players as well as their supporters should use social media as a positive platform of communication and make sure that they do not post anything which might harm other’s feelings.

There are 12 rugby union clubs in India and all twelve will join the boycott to show their support to the players. Do you think all the teams and clubs protesting against the racing abuse is right?
