Deep Das Gupta And Pragyan Ojha Discussed India’s historic Draw At Sydney


Former Indian wicket-keeper Deepdas Gupta and Former Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha shared their views on how 11th January was a fantastic day for the Indian cricket team and the skipper, Virat Kohli. 

This happened when they were invited to a show named Sports Today to speak on India’s historic draw in the third test against Australia.

‘Australia might look for another option’ said Deepdas Gupta on Paine

Significantly, Tim Paine Australian captain has been seen under pressure during the whole series and that pressure has been reflected on the team as well. There were rumors about removing Pain as a captain before the series but now the rumors have been started spreading more.

The pressure made Tim Paine drop three catches in the third test which proved disastrous for the Australian side. His chattering is also getting criticized. Deep Das Gupta said that rumors are already there outside about taking the captaincy from Paine and Australia is looking for someone else.

Former wicket-keeper when asked about the Pain replacement he answered that it should be left to the Australia side. Rajarshi Gupta another cricket expert who was part of the show commented on the same statements and criticized the Aussie skipper for poor captaincy display.  

Boria Majumdar, another expert and the host of the show asked Pragyan Ojha about the determinant showed by two youngsters Rishabh Pant and Hanuma Vihari. Pragyan said that he was shocked to know the two players are taking heavy doses of pain-killer and it is just unbelievable.  

Deep Das when asked about the sporting staff said that this was kind of Ravi Shastri cricket. He praised Shastri, the head coach, and all the supporting staff that they motivated the Indian team. He also praised Bharat Arun, the bowling coach of India to prepare two youngsters Navdeep Saini and Mohammad Siraj at their best.

Pragyan Ojha and Rajarshi Gupta also praised Ravi Shastri and the supporting staff to develop that determinant, resistance in the Indian dressing room. Gupta said that there was a time when India couldn’t even think of winning in Australia all they wanted was a draw and now the team we have got is fantastic.

Pragyan Ojha took on the statement made by former Australian Captain, Ricky Ponting that India can’t even score 200 or 250. He replied that Ponting should think before saying anything as many people follow him.
