Dasun Shanaka Praised Sri Lanka on Twitter For Mounting a Comeback to Square The Series With Australia

On September 9, 1991, Madagamagamage Dasun Shanaka was born. He plays professional cricket for Sri Lanka and is currently the team’s limited overs captain.

He usually plays as an all-rounder and is a right-handed batter and medium- rapid bowler.

In a T20I match in 2019 against Pakistan, he served as the captain and helped Sri Lanka win the series 3-0.

Shanaka took over as Sri Lanka’s T20I captain from Lasith Malinga prior to their trip to the West Indies in February 2021.

Dinesh Chandimal’s double century in his first Test match helped Sri Lanka win the match, and Shanaka, who was also chosen as the ODI (one-day international) captain for that series, tweeted his congratulations.

He also congratulated Sri Lanka for their comeback along with Dimuth Karunarathna and the rest of the team for their powerplay in the same tweet.

His tweet “Fantastic win for #SrilankaCricket coming back strongly to draw the test series! Congratulations @IamDimuth and to all the boys! @LDChandimal and @PrabathJayasur2 game changing performances!” soon started to make a buzz on social media.

For the unversed Sri Lanka and Australia were competing against each other in a two match test series.

However, the hosts overcame their initial setback to square the series at 1-1 by dismissing Australia for 151 in the final session of day four of the second match with the help of the left-arm spinner’s six wickets, despite Australia winning the first match.
