Cricket-India have enough batting to win without Kohli, Rohit: Tendulkar

Cricket at the domestic level in India and tournaments like the Ranji trophy or the IPL plays an important part has over the years produced very important and big players for the national side. These tournaments have given chances to players from every corner to showcase their talent, perform at the big level and earn a spot in the national side. Many players over the years have performed extremely well at the domestic level and caught the eyes of the selectors year after year to go on and play for their country.

Manish Pandey, Shreyas Iyer, Mayank Agarwal, T Natarajan, Mohammed Siraj and Navdeep Saini are the very recent examples who have performed well in the domestic circuit and have represented the national side. Domestic cricket offers so much to learn for the players, it teaches you how to coordinate and compete at the same time. When someone plays at the domestic level he has 2 things in mind at the same time, to help his team win and to play well so that he can go on and get selected to the national team.

The Rohit-Kohli era:

For years now, India’s top order has been dominated by Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. India have been heavily dependent on their contribution with the bat in order to win matches over the past five to six years. Both of them have tremendously contributed to India’s success in the long run. What makes them even amazing batsmen is the consistency with which both these players have played for many years.

Sachin praises the team:

India’s batting legend Sachin Tendulkar recently said that Indian cricket has now reached a level where Indian batting line up is no longer limited only to Kohli and Rohit and we have many youngsters who can bat against tough teams. This statement comes in the view of the excellent display by team India in the tour so far where Rohit Sharma is absent and other batsmen have taken the responsibility to help the team win.
