In advance of their opening Commonwealth Games encounter, the Indian women’s cricket team has received well wishes from Chennai Super Kings

In Group A of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup on Friday, India’s journey to the Commonwealth Games will get underway when they take on Australia.

Eight nations, split into two groups, will play in women’s cricket at the Commonwealth Games for the first time in 2022 at Edgbaston, Birmingham, from July 29 to August 7.

Cricket has been at the Games before, when a List A men’s event was conducted at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, even though it will be a first for women. 

South Africa won the 50-over matches, in which 16 teams competed, with Australia and New Zealand earning the silver and bronze, respectively.
