‘Brown Munde’ Nitish Rana explains his half-century celebration after KKR’s win over SRH

The Kolkata Knight Riders team won their first IPL match of the season against Sunrisers Hyderabad which was played last Sunday. Man of the Match Nitish Rana was the best performer of the match with scoring 80 runs in just 56 balls. Rahul Tripathi also played well and scored 53 runs off 29 balls. The Kolkata Knight Riders team did manage to score 187 runs in 20 overs at the loss of 6 wickets.

As Nitish Rana scored his half-century, He celebrated it by pointing his three fingers downwards. The Sunrisers Hyderabad team, which came to bat in the second innings, could not chase the KKR’s score and lost the match for 10 runs.

After the match got over, Harbhajan Singh asked Nitish Rana about his gesture that he did after his half-century. Rana said that the gesture meant a song named ‘Brown Munde’ which is quite famous among the other players of the team. Harbhajan asked Rana to sing the songs and later both Harbhajan Singh and Nitish Rana sang the song and entertained the fans.

Rana played very well in the match and made a partnership of 93 runs with Rahul Tripathi. Rahul Tripathi scored 53 runs in the match in 29 balls. Rana said that he had played spin balls all the time while growing up and all he cares about is playing his shots when he can.

In the second innings, Sunrisers Hyderabad started pretty well as Jonny Bairstow and Manish Pandey played great. Unfortunately, the openers of the team, Wriddhimann Saha and David Warner got out with a single-digit score and it was Pandey and Bairstow who took the team back to the game. Unfortunately, the partnership didn’t work out well and Bairstow got out at 55 runs after which the team shattered and couldn’t score much. Manish Pandey was not out at 61 runs. Hopefully, Sunrisers Hyderabad will show a better performance in the next match. Do you think so?
