Stuart Broad proclaimed changes to the international cricket calendar that he might be the last paceman to take 500 Test wickets. Broad attained the landmark figure by taking the wicket of Kraigg Brathwaite.
As we all know now that England gained the victory of the match by scoring a prominent 269-run in the third Test against the West Indies at Old Trafford on Tuesday where England has 2 victories and West Indies only one.
But now we will focus on the attainment of Stuart Broad. The 34-year-old Broad is only the seventh bowler who has seized rank in 500 Test wickets and the fourth quick in the cricket history.
His wish to join the 500 clubs since 2016, is now being in reality. He said, “There is plenty of competition out here in the international cricket, between different T20 leagues franchises, 100-ball.”
He also added, “I feel very fortunate to have played for England where we’ve played a lot of Test cricket in summers and winters. From his many interviews, we have seen his inspiration is mostly his favorite colleague Anderson who is pursuing 600 wickets
Broad finished the West Indies series as the dominating bowler on either side, with 16 wickets at a low average of 10.93.
He also added in his recent interviews that ‘’I’ve never even thought about my 500 test wickets. Why not attempt and pursue in Jimmy’s footsteps? If I keep bowling in the manner,
I am for the next few years then I wouldn’t rule anything in the cricket matches. He admitted that I thought where am I going here but I’m delighted I kept up strong because I’m very happy two weeks later’’.
