The final match of IPL 2022 was played between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where Gujarat won the match by 7 wickets and became the winner of this season. Many records were made and many broken in this season.
Umran Malik, the fast bowler from the Sunrisers Hyderabad, has astonished everyone this season with his pace. He was the tournament’s second-fastest bowler. Malik has also been included in India’s T20 squad for the upcoming series against South Africa. Former Australia fast bowler Brett Lee has now issued a statement in his defense. He compared Malik to Waqar Younis, a former Pakistani bowler.
Brett Lee’s Statement On Umran Malik
Speaking to news agency ANI, Brett Lee said,
“I am a fan of Umran Malik. I think he has a lot of speed. He is a competitive bowler. He is a top man who has run like a lot of fast bowlers in the past. Waqar Younis, a bowler like him, comes to my mind.”

Malik’s Performance In IPL 2022
Umran Malik did really well in the IPL 2022. In 14 games, he grabbed 22 wickets. The young pacer from Jammu and Kashmir has a strike rate of 13.40 while yielding runs at a 9.03 economy rate.
In addition, against Gujarat, Malik got five wickets for 25 runs in four overs. Only one of these five wickets was clean bowled. It was Malik’s greatest IPL performance to date. He’ll now be seen stoking the fires of war against South Africa.
