Big Blow To DC, Prithvi Shaw Injured For The Tournament

Delhi Capitals’ explosive opener Prithvi Shaw is currently out of the team due to illness and if some reports are to be believed, he will not be available to play in the next two league matches as well. Meanwhile, Delhi’s assistant coach Shane Watson has given a big update regarding the status of the team’s star opener.

Shaw will not play in the last two matches

Recently, during a conversation with ‘Grade Cricketer’, the former Australian player said that,

“I don’t know what the investigation revealed. But he had a fever for the last two weeks, so the reason for this was to find out what happened to him. Not playing will be our loss. Hope he gets well soon but unfortunately he will not be fit till our last two matches.”

Road to playoff difficult for Delhi

In both the matches played so far, Delhi has missed its star opener Prithvi Shaw. In such a situation, if Shaw is out of the tournament, then the road to the playoffs for Delhi will be very difficult.

Currently, Delhi’s team remains in fifth place in the points table with 6 wins and 12 points. In such a situation, they will have to win both their remaining matches to make it to the playoffs. Delhi’s next match will be played on 16 May with Punjab Kings, while the last match will be played against Mumbai on 21 May.
