Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma likely to miss Australia tour due to injuries sustained in IPL 2020: Report

India vs Australia is a series that everyone is eagerly waiting for. It is known as the Border Gavaskar trophy in the memory of two great cricketing legends Sunil Gavaskar and Allan Border.

Over the past many years this series has produced amazing players and records. There have been a lot of runs, wickets, fierce bouncers, hard-hitting, and much more.

Many players like Cheteshwar Pujara, KL Rahul, Murali Vijay, Virat Kohli, and Karun Nair have impressed with the bat on the previous tours to Australia.

In the bowling department, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Ravichandran Ashwin have been a constant threat to the opposition.

2 speedsters to miss this time:

This time India is expected to suffer a big blow at the Border Gavaskar Trophy as two of its main speedsters Ishant Sharma and Bhuvneshwar Kumar could miss out on the tour due to injuries.

Ishant Sharma suffered a groin injury in a practice session with the Delhi Capitals and was able to play only one match in this IPL. He has been sent back to India as he wasn’t in a situation to further continue the campaign with Delhi Capitals.

On the other hand, Bhuvneshwar Kumar suffered a thigh injury against the Chennai Super Kings for Sunrisers Hyderabad and couldn’t even complete his spell before walking out of the pitch and was ruled out for the rest of the IPL.

New players will get a chance:

Both of these players were expected to lead India’s bowling attack in tests and limited over cricket. But now their absence gives a chance for BCCI to look towards youngsters who would have been eagerly waiting for an opportunity to get to play for team India.

Youngsters like Navdeep Saini and Mohammad Siraj could be possible replacements playing with Umesh Yadav, Mohammad Shami, and Jaspreet Bumrah.

We’ll keep you updated on the tour which begins with the first ODI on 27 November. So stay tuned to our website regularly for all the latest updates.
