Star England, all-rounder and the current player for Rajasthan Royals have slammed the slow pitches for the Indian Premier League 2021 season. Stokes was mainly with the wicket of MA Chidambaram in Chennai.
He said that the slow surface had produced many low-scoring events in the ongoing IPL 2021 season.
Stokes called that wicket as thrash, and he hopes that the teams do not end up fighting on the low-scoring pitches. Stokes feels that the T20 matches should produce 160 to 170 runs at least, and he said to scrap those wickets, which produce only 130 to 140 runs.
Ben Stokes had sent a message on the Twitter handle. In that, he hopes the pitches in India don’t get slower as the IPL tournament progresses.
A score of 160 to 170 runs should be minimum in the T20 matches, and the trash wickets which produce a contest of 130 and 140 should be scrapped, Said Stokes.
In the nine games played at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai, teams who have batted first have reached 170 runs only twice. Only Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore have scored those many runs in this IPL 2021 season.
And the other teams who managed to score 140 and 150 runs have won the match as the low-scoring affairs have often been thrilling and competitive ones in the tournament.
In the coming, the Cheapuk Stadium in Chennai will host the last game of the IPL 2021 season. Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad will play their last match of this season at Chennai on 25th April 2021. Then the tournament shifts to New Delhi and the new Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad.
In the points table, it is the Royal Challengers who are on top. Virat’s men have won four out of four matches in the tournament so far.
Simultaneously, the men in the yellow team of Mahi are placed second on the points table. Chennai Super Kings have lost just one game while they have won three matches in this cash-rich league tournament.
