BCCI denies split captaincy claims, Virat Kohli to continue as captain across three formats- its all rubbish, media creation

After reputed newspaper reported, that Rohit Sharma would take over the captaincy from Virat Kohli in limited overs format after World T20 2021, BCCI secretary Jay Shah said its all rubbish and media creation.

Virat Kohli has done wonders for Indian team especially in Test cricket. Under his captaincy, Indian team created history by winning their first ever series on Australian soil in 2018. Despite losing series in South Africa, England during 2018, Kohli performed brilliantly as captain winning 2 Test matches at Lords, London and Kennington Oval, London during the recently concluded series against England.

Indian team produced a dominating display in the longest format of the game taking them to number 1 position for five successive years.

“This is all rubbish. Nothing as such is going to happen. This is all media creation,” Arun Dhumal told NDTV. “BCCI has not met or discussed anything on this issue. “Virat will remain as the captain (of all formats),” he said.

The Indian Cricket Team has won a major ICC Trophy since 2013. They have lost 2014 World T20 finals against Sri Lanka, 2016 World T20 semi-finals against eventual champions West Indies, 2017 ICC Champions Trophy finals against arch-rivals Pakistan, 2015 World Cup semi-finals against Australia, 2019 World Cup semi-finals against Kiwis.

Under the captaincy of Kohli, Indian team reached the finals of inuragul World Test Championship 2021 losing to New Zealand. Both Kohli and Rohit Sharma created a major impact for Indian cricket across all formats.

As Virat Kohli had to sit out for various purpose, Rohit Sharma has done captaincy for Team India in various tournaments and won the tournaments for Men in Blue.

Kohli is one the most successful test captains for India. The Men in Blue would be looking conquer the World as they will face best teams in the world during World T20 2021 to be played in United Arab Emirates from 23rd October.
