Recently, the Bangladeshi speedster Abu Jayed has tested positive for Covid-19. This is a worrying sign for the Bangladesh team as they are going to tour Sri Lanka from September 27.
Bangladesh Cricket Board physician Debashish Choudhary in a statement said that Pacer Abu Jayed will undergo treatment in isolation for Covid-19 as per the guidelines.
The Bangladesh cricket board also said that Abu Jayed is the only player to test positive from the 27 players that were tested while the rest 26 tested negative and are safe to tour Sri Lanka.
The youngster Abu Jayed has featured for Bangladesh already in nine tests taking 24 wickets hence it is for sure that Bangladesh needs him to recover as he is an important member of the bowling attack.
One of their opener Saif Hassan also tested positive for COVID-19 but has recovered and is fit to train.
The series of Sri Lanka was scheduled for July-August but was postponed due to the pandemic and will now take place from October 23.
