Sri Lanka locked horns with Australia on 16th June in the second ODI at the Pallekele, International Cricket Stadium in Kandy. To remain alive in the match, the hosts needed to win it. Thus, Sri Lanka made a comeback with a blast by defeating Australia by 26 runs.
Due to the injury suffered by visitors, players Marcus Stoinis and Ashton Agar had to be replaced by uncapped spinner Matthew Kuhnemann and Travis Head.
